AMHA YOUTH OF THE YEAR
Every year, the Morgan Masterpiece hosts an AMHA Youth of the Year contest, which is designed to recognize hard working youth who are well versed in horsemanship skills.
Youth of the Year contests consist of four parts, each worth about 250 points:
Contestants who win the Senior division or who score over 800 points in the Senior division at any locally held contests will have the opportunity to travel to Oklahoma City to compete in the AMHA Youth of the Year contest at the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show! For 2023, there is also a $250 stipend (courtesy Jordan Freitag!) available to a senior contestant who chooses to make the journey to Oklahoma. There are a lot of great opportunities, friendships, skills, and experiences gained by participating in Youth of the Year! 2023 SPEECH TOPIC: You are approached by a horse enthusiast and they ask you why you chose the Morgan horse, please explain why the Morgan horse won you over. *NEW FOR 2023* Patterns (downloaded from below) should be videoed at home and submitted to Sarah Krygeris, to be viewed by the judge during the show. NO PATTERNS WILL BE COMPLETED AT THE SHOW. Take this opportunity to nail the patterns at home! Videos are due to Sarah Krygeris July 10 by noon CST.
